Panthers Kick Off 2016-17 Season Monday

Team hosts Parkside for lone exhibition contest

MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee women's basketball team gets its 2016-17 season underway Monday with its lone exhibition contest, hosting Parkside at 7 pm from the Klotsche Center.

The Panthers are coming off their most successful season in 10 years, finishing second in both the regular season and Horizon League Tournament a earning a berth to the WNIT - the team's first postseason berth in a decade.

Head coach Kyle Rechlicz looks to build off a year in which she was named Horizon League Coach of the Year, with Steph Kostowicz also earning postseason honors a year ago with a first-team all-conference selection.

Parkside comes to campus on Monday after a 13-14 record one season ago, with head coach Jacob Yorg entering his fourth season with the Rangers.

The Black & Gold Network sat down with coach Rechlicz and senior Jordyn Swan to help preview the start of this season.
