Women's Basketball Holds First Practice

Panthers finished second in Horizon League last year

MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee women's basketball team took to the practice floor for the first time Tuesday morning in preparation for the 2016-17 season. UWM is a little over one month away from its first action of the year, hosting Parkside in an exhibition Nov. 7 from the Klotsche Center.

The Panthers were one of the biggest turnarounds in all of college basketball a year ago, posting 19 wins and earning a berth to the WNIT, nearly pulling off the upset at Big Ten foe Minnesota.

Last year's Horizon League Coach of the Year Kyle Rechlicz enters her fifth season with Milwaukee and returns the majority of her roster from last year's league runner-up squad, headlined by first-team all-league selection Steph Kostowicz.
