Kostowicz Named Player Of The Week

Sophomore posts career day in big win Saturday

MILWAUKEE – Steph Kostowicz of the Milwaukee women's basketball team has been named the Horizon League player of the week by College Sports Madness earlier today.

Milwaukee went 2-0 last week and has now won three straight, thanks in large part to Kostowicz's efforts.

The Oak Creek native started her week with a 17-point, six-rebound performance in a 54-53 win over UIC on Thursday.

Then, on Saturday, Kostowicz had a career day in an 82-60 win over Valparaiso. She poured in 20 points, while dishing out five assists and grabbing six steals – all career highs. Kostowicz also hauled in a game-high 11 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season.

The Panthers will look to run their winning-streak to four when they return to action Thursday at Wright State.
