CHICAGO  (January 16, 2016) –
Matt Tiby scored a team-high 23 points and was one of four Panthers to score in double figures as Milwaukee (13-6, 4-2 Horizon) rolled to an 87-62 victory over UIC (2-14, 0-5 Horizon) this afternoon at the UIC Pavilion.

Both teams were hot from the floor early on and the game was a back-and-forth affair until Jordan Johnson reeled off seven straight points as part of a game-changing 10-0 run that turned a two-point Milwaukee lead into a 32-20 advantage.

Over the final 9:35 of the opening period, the Panthers outscored the Flames 27-6 to take a 49-26 lead and command of the contest.

"That run really put UIC back on its heels," Milwaukee head coach Rob Jeter said. "Our goal coming in was to keep UIC off rhythm because they've made a big jump the last three or four games."

UIC closed within 62-42 in the second half but Milwaukee used a 13-2 run, capped by a three-pointer from J.J. Panoske with 9:22 left to play, to grab 75-45 lead, its largest of the game. UIC would get no closer than 22 points the remainder of the way.

Tiby finished with over 20 points for the fourth time this season, hitting 7 of 11 shots from the field and 8 of 9 from the foul line.

"Matt has really put the work in to find his shooting touch, but he hasn't forgotten that he's still a player that has to a lot of the dirty work," Jeter said.

Akeem Springs totaled 17 points and Johnson added 10 points and 12 assists for his third double-double of the year. Austin Arians pitched in 10 points and Panoske totaled 9.

"Jordan makes more good decisions late in the shot clock than anyone I've seen in a long time," Jeter said. "Today, he was the player he has been all season for us."

Paris Burns scored 19 points to lead UIC.

With a four-game road trip complete, the Panthers, who have won four of their last five contests, return home for three straight games beginning with a Jan. 23 encounter with Detroit.
