Former Panther To Face Packers Monday Night

Demetrius Harris and Kansas City Chiefs face Green Bay Sept. 28

MILWAUKEE (September 27, 2015) – When the Green Bay Packers take the field Monday night, Milwaukee basketball fans will have a rooting interest for a player sporting the colors of the visiting Kansas City Chiefs.  Former Milwaukee men's basketball forward Demetrius Harris will make his first-ever regular-season appearance at Lambeau Field when the Chiefs visit the Packers tomorrow for a game that will be televised on ESPN at 7:30 p.m. Central.

Despite missing a majority of the 2015 preseason while recovering from a pair of offseason surgeries, Harris has been on the field quite a bit in the first two regular-season games of 2015. The 6-foot-7 tight end earned a start in the Chiefs' heartbreaking loss to Denver in week 2.

Last season, his first on the Chiefs' active roster, Harris appeared in eight games and hauled in three passes for 20 yards before suffering a season-ending foot injury during warm-ups against Buffalo in early November.

This won't be Harris' first trip to Lanbeau, Field, however. He caught one pass for 10 yards in a preaseason game against the Packers on August 30, 2014.

The first Panther to appear in the National Football League since 1983, Harris played two seasons of basketball at Milwaukee. After helping the Panthers to a College Basketball Invitational postseason berth in 2011-12, he put up 9.1 points and 5.3 rebounds per game as a senior in 2012-13.
