Former Panther Clay Tucker Signs With Torku Konyaspor

Milwaukee all-time leading scorer also played in Turkey last season

MILWAUKEE (September 25, 2015) – Former Milwaukee men's basketball standout and all-time leading scorer Clay Tucker has signed a professional contract to play for Torku Konyaspor in Turkey during the 2015-16 season.
 
Last season, Tucker played for TED Kolejliler in Turkey and averaged 16.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.5 steals per game. The 6-foot-3 guard has had an accomplished playing career in Europe, with stops in France, Greece, Poland, Russia, Sweden, Ukraine, Italy and Spain as well as the NBA Development League.
 
Set to embark on his 13th season of professional basketball, Tucker was named Eurobasket.com All-Italian SerieA Honorable Mention in 2008 and helped his teams to the Spanish ACB Supercup Final Four in 2011 and 2013.
 
During his Milwaukee career, which spanned from 1999-2003, Tucker averaged 16.0 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 3.0 apg and 1.7 spg and helped the Panthers to their first-ever NCAA Tournament berth as a Division I program in 2003. He is the program's all-time Division I leader with 1,788 points and 194 steals and ranks second with 592 rebounds and third with 341 assists.
 
Tucker was a two-time First Team All-Horizon League pick and collected National Association of Basketball Coaches All-District 11 accolades in 2001-02. A two-time Horizon League All-Defensive Team selection, he was tabbed Most Valuable Player of the 2003 Horizon League Championship.
