MILWAUKEE (August 10, 2015) – On July 20, head coach
Rob Jeter and his program hosted the annual Milwaukee Basketball Golf Classic at North Shore County Club in Mequon. The event was a huge success, attracting over 150 attendees, who helped the program raise over $45,000.
"I would like to offer a heartfelt thank you to all who attended this year's Milwaukee Basketball Golf Classic," Jeter said. "We rely on and appreciate the support of all of our donors, season ticket holders, alumni and fans. Your support helps ensure that we continue to build a program that is among the best both regionally and nationally. I would also be remiss if I didn't single out the generous contributions of the Nicholas and Kriete families. United we roar!"
Former Milwaukee men's basketball players, including Joah Tucker, Adrian Tigert, Dylan Page, and many others, attended the event along with countless donors and supporters of the program for an enjoyable day of golf. Tucker turned in the highlight of the day, notching his first ever hole-in-one on the par-3 14th hole.
"Of all the great memories I made at UWM over the years, the hole-in-one has to be one of the top three moments of my sports career," Tucker said. "I was very happy to be able to share that experience with my UWM family."
The Kriete and Nicholas families generously matched the monetary gifts of the dinner attendees to help bring in an additional $15,000 to help support the program.
"The Milwaukee Basketball Golf Classic is one of the highlights of the summer for my dad and I and it provides for a pretty entertaining venue for us to give back and support the basketball program," David Kriete said. "I'm looking forward to doing so for many years to come."
The men's basketball program offers its sincere thanks to everyone who attended the event and looks forward to seeing you at Panther Arena this season!
