MILWAUKEE (July 22, 2015) – Cody Wichmann, a junior on the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's basketball team, has been named Vice President of the Horizon League's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee it was announced today. Wichmann served as a member of Milwaukee's SAAC during the 2014-15 academic year.
 
Wichmann and fellow Panther women's tennis student-athlete Dana Shannon attended the annual Horizon League SAAC meetings in Indianapolis. In addition to providing feedback to Horizon League staff and attending workshops, Wichmann and Shannon spent time bowling and interacting with individuals from Special Olympics Indiana.
 
A member of the Horizon League Men's Basketball All-Academic Team as well as the Horizon League Academic Honor Roll in 2014-15, Wichmann averaged 6.1 points 2.3 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game a season ago, while knocking down a team-best 40.2 percent (47-for-117) of his three-point field goal attempts.
 
SAAC is comprised of current student-athletes who provide insight into the student-athlete experience by promoting, fostering, designing and implementing programs that encourage academic achievement, professional development, health-conscious life choices and social responsibility. SAAC also provides suggestions and feedback to help enhance the student-athlete experience.
