MILWAUKEE - Steph Kostowicz of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's basketball team was named the Horizon League Freshman of the Week, the league office announced this afternoon.

This is the first time she has earned the honor this season.
 
It also marks the third straight week – and fourth time overall – that Milwaukee has had the freshman of the week, with Kostowicz joining three-time winner Jenny Lindner on the list.
 
Kostowicz averaged 14.0 points, 10.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game against Detroit and Wright State. She posted her first career double-double versus the Titans, recording season highs of 18 points and 13 rebounds.
 
Up next, Milwaukee hosts Valparaiso later tonight in the first round of the Horizon League Tournament with tip-off set for 7 p.m.
