MILWAUKEE - Members of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's basketball team recently volunteered their time and service by holding a girls basketball clinic at Bethlehem Lutheran School in Menomonee Falls.
The players featured different basketball stations emphasizing fundamentals such as shooting form, dribbling, passing, boxing out & rebounding and defensive techniques to a group of grade-schoolers from fourth to eighth grade (9 years to 13 years old).
"It's always great to be out in the community and it was so enjoyable watching the interaction between those kids and our student-athletes," UWM head coach
Kyle Rechlicz said. "To be able to combine important basketball lessons with the importance of having fun on the court, made for a really special afternoon."
The event also featured shooting contests with prizes for the winners and an autograph session and ice cream for all after it was over.
