Women’s Soccer Announces Signing Class for 2015 Season

Six high school standouts set to join Panthers

MILWAUKEE – The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's soccer team has signed six high school seniors to Nation Letters of Intent, head coach Troy Fabiano announced today.

Kylee Marks of Cedarburg, Wis.; Mallory Mollenhauer of St. Charles, Ill.; Brooke Polonus of Plainfield, Ill.; Lauren Rice of Cincinnati, Ohio; Rachel Rodeheffer of Commerce Township, Mich.; and Alexis Royal of Fort Wayne, Ind. have all signed their papers to join the Panthers for the 2015 season.

"I'm very excited about having these young women join our team," Fabiano said. "It's a great day for the program and I'm looking forward to getting these ladies on campus and working with them."

Marks enters her senior year already with a state title under her belt at Cedarburg High School. A six-foot center back, Marks helped her team run the table in the 2013 state tournament for its first-ever state title in girls soccer, outscoring all opponents in the playoffs a combined 30-3. She has earned all-conference honors all three seasons thus far, including being named team MVP, captain and Best of the Rest for the state of Wisconsin as a junior.

Mollenhauer has boasted an impressive high school and club career with one year left on the schedule. Having split time between the defense and midfield, she was the leading scorer at St. Charles East her freshman year and earned a plethora of accolades as a junior last year, including leading her team to the state tournament. Mollenhauer focused on club soccer her sophomore year of high school. Playing for Chicago-Internacional, she helped her team to a top-50 rank in the nation, placing in the top-five two-straight years at the Disney Soccer Showcase.

Polonus comes to Milwaukee as a standout defender. With her senior year yet to come for Plainfield North High School, Polonus has already helped her team to their first-ever regional championships, doing so both her sophomore and junior seasons. She has started every game thus far for the Tigers, tallying 16 goals and 14 assists from the back line. Her efforts on the field earned her all-conference honors each of the past two seasons and she was also named the Tiger's defensive player of the year just last season.

Rice is a goaltender hailing from Cincinnati, Ohio. She recently wrapped up her high school career by leading her team to a state title with an incredible 21-1 record this past fall, allowing just 12 goals against all season and keeping a clean sheet in the state final. Her 13 shutouts as a senior were the most in school history; making 164 saves her final season. She also led her club team Kings Hammer Academy to two-straight state titles and a spot in the National Championship Finals in 2013.

Entering her senior season, Rodeheffer is one of the more versatile players in her class. She has five goals and nine assists in just two seasons with Walled Lake Northern High School in the Detroit-area suburbs, earning all-conference honors both seasons. She also has had a very successful club career, earning team academic honors to go with her results on the field.

Royal comes to Milwaukee after four outstanding seasons with Bishop Dwenger High School. The forward netted an impressive 43 goals and 26 assists during her career with the Saints. Royal helped the team to three-straight conference titles her final three seasons, including a trip to the state tournament her junior year. She was named offensive player of the year this season, while also earning first-team all conference her freshman, junior and senior seasons, missing much of her junior campaign with an injury.
