Jeter Adds Pair In Early Signing Period

Duo includes local prep athlete

MILWAUKEE - Bryce Nze of Waukesha, Wis., and Max Curran of Hooksett, N.H. have both signed National Letters of Intent to play basketball at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, head coach Rob Jeter announced today.

"Our goal in this recruiting class was to address two things – one was versatility and the other was athleticism," Jeter said. "We feel confident that we addressed both of those needs with Max and Bryce."

Nze, a senior at Arrowhead High School in Hartland, Wis., is a two-time First-Team Classic 8 All-Conference honoree as well as a First-Team Lake Country All-Area selection as a junior. He averaged 14.7 points and almost nine rebounds per game a year ago, shooting 50 percent from the floor and 43 percent from three-point range.

"At 6-foot-7, we like Bryce's ability to play multiple positions," Jeter said. "His size and strength allow him to guard multiple positions on the defensive end and play in multiple positions on the offensive end. Physically, he is ready to come in and play right away."

Curran led Pembroke Academy to a 27-1 record and the Division II state title as a junior and was named New Hampshire Basketball Coaches Organization Honorable Mention All-State as a senior after averaging 18.8 points and 8.3 rebounds per game. A New England Top 100 selection by HoopGroup.com, he is currently enrolled at Notre Dame Preparatory School in Fitchburg, Mass., maintaining freshman eligibility.

"It's the same thing with Max at 6-foot-8, with his athleticism and his ball skills," Jeter said. "Being able to shoot it and handle the ball will allow him to do the same thing on the perimeter for us. And as he gains some strength and size, he will be able to play multiple positions for us over the years."
