Jeter Lends Support To Veterans

Milwaukee men’s basketball helps salute our armed forces

MILWAUKEE (November 12, 2015) – Milwaukee men's basketball coach Rob Jeter spent the last few days joining others on campus in saluting our veterans, several of whom are students or work at UWM.

Jeter opened the week by attending the Veterans Ball at Renaissance Plaza on November 6. The event celebrated military and student veterans, volunteers and staff. He then took part in Project 22, a powerful documentary that chronicles a motorcycle ride awareness campaign from San Francisco to New York to raise awareness about the high rate of suicides among veterans.

Yesterday, he wrapped up the tributes by serving brunch to veterans on the UWM campus. Jeter was one of several individuals to volunteer time to serve military and student veterans a meal and recognize them for both their military and academic achievements.

"We owe so much to our veterans for all that they risked and sacrificed on our behalf," Jeter said. "There is no way we can repay them for their service to our country but taking part in these events is just one small way to show appreciation for all they have done."
