Milwaukee Men’s Basketball Posts 3.0 Team GPA

Panthers achieve 3.078 Fall 2014 term grade-point average

MILWAUKEE (January 23, 2015) – The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's basketball program recently completed an outstanding semester in the classroom as the team posted a 3.078 grade-point average for the Fall 2014 term. The Fall 2014 GPA comes on the heels of last year's squad narrowly missing out on the 3.0 benchmark with a 2.9 GPA for the 2013-14 academic year.

"I am extremely proud of the work of our young men and can't say enough about Assistant Director of Student-Athlete Services Griffith Watson, who has worked closely with each individual student-athlete to put him in the best position for academic success, " Milwaukee Head Coach Rob Jeter said. "These guys have done all that has been asked of them in the classroom, in the community and on the court. Earning a 3.0 GPA is a great achievement for our program and we look for even bigger and better things in the future."

In addition to its academic success during the Fall 2014 semester, the Milwaukee men's basketball program has also been one of the most active teams in the community, performing numerous service projects.

Milwaukee, which has prevailed in two of its last three games, travels to Valparaiso on January 26.
