MILWAUKEE - Jenny Lindner of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's basketball team was named the Horizon League Freshman of the Week, the league office announced this afternoon.
 
Lindner had an impressive outing for the Panthers in her first career conference game. She scored 16 points, grabbed seven rebounds and handed out four assists in the 84-68 victory over Detroit.
 
In the loss versus Oakland, she contributed five points while collecting six boards with one steal and one block. For the week, she averaged 10.5 ppg and 6.5 rpg.
 
The award is the first of Lindner's career. She is just the third UWM freshman to earn the honor since the league implemented them starting prior to the 2012-13 campaign.
 
Up next, Lindner and her teammates welcome Wright State on Wednesday for a 5 p.m. tip downtown at UWM Panther Arena.
