Former University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's basketball standout
Angela Rodriguez has been named to the final roster of the Mexico National Basketball Team.

Rodriguez, who spent the past month at the training camp at the Olympic Center in Mexico City, found out the good news when it was made official earlier this week.
"I am honored to have been one of 12 chosen to play on the Mexico National Team," Rodriguez said. "I am excited that I am able to continue my basketball career on a professional level while representing Mexico. The past month has been a positive life-changing experience for me while training at the Olympic Center in Mexico City. My coaches, teammates, staff, and other athletes who were also training there have made it an awesome experience."
Rodriguez, who qualified for a possible roster spot based on her grandmother being born in Durango, Mexico, now heads back to the USA for another month-long training camp to be held in Atlanta.
"It was an exciting day for our program when Angela messaged me the final word that she made the team," Milwaukee women's basketball head coach Kyle Rechlicz said. "She is one of the hardest working players that I have ever coached and this is a very deserving honor for her. We kept in touch during the entire tryout and I'm looking forward to hearing about the next step of training in Atlanta. She is going to get the opportunity compete against some of the most elite women's basketball players in the world. I know she will rise to the challenge. We wish her the best of luck from her Milwaukee family on her journey with the Mexican National Team."
